With the fast growing phase, man is focusing on unlimited wants. To satisfy these wants with his limited income he approaches the banks and the financial institutions for the financial support. Now a day these institutions provide the financial assistance in no time. Thus he is seeks a financial support either in buying a car, a house or for any other personal financial purpose. How ever these institutions take utmost care in lending the financial support to the persons or the business firms, based on the report of the credit score

A credit score is a numerical value showing the credibility of a particular person. It is a score that is basically defined by the credit report from the credit bureaus

Need of credit Score:

Banks and financial companies who are in to sourcing the loans use these credit reports in evaluating the potentiality of the person/ business firms for sanctioning the loan which would reduce the risk of bad debts. Based on these reports lenders determine the amount of loan to be sanctioned, the interest to be charged and the tenure of the loan. This is the most trusted system followed by the lenders in carrying on their day to day lending transactions.

Improving credit score:

One should be very careful in planning his future financial prospects. From the very first credit card, the payment history monitors the credit score. Thus one needs to be very careful in borrowing the financial help keeping in mind his affordability in his payments. This also helps in avoiding excessive debts. For example while using the credit card one should keep in mind to repay the complete amount with in the stipulated time which allows in improvising the credibility.

Due to ignorance one may drop down his credit score how ever, one can re build it proper planning like paying off the debts on time and maintaining minimal accounts etc. The continuation of this practice keeps a control on the financial destiny.

So you need a loan, and the lender mentions that they have to evaluate your credit score range. Don’t fret. This is a term referring to how credit worthy you are, and is determined mathematically from a detailed analysis of your credit files. The higher your score the more your lenders will be comfortable lending you the funds that you require. If you get a low score on the credit score range, chances are that your lender may easily deny you a loan or give it to you with a higher interest rate.

How To Know If Your Credit Score Range Is Good:

If you’ve had late and(or) missed payments, or if you have an unsatisfying length of credit card history and other negative indications such as bankruptcy and charge-offs, you are definitely on the losing side and you need to work on these as soon as possible. Your overall score of your credit score range is calculated based on all of these. Every time someone else accesses your credit score, points are deducted. Thus please be wise and don’t be tempted to make many and different applications to different companies as this will greatly reduce your chances. Although varying credit rating agencies have their own unique ways of vetting, the final results will be more or less the same.
Your credit score range is calculated from an odd figure of 300 to 850. It will never remain constant though…any slight changes in your credit files will reflect and affect your final credit score range.
Your credit score range will fall in any of these categories:

~between 700 and 850- good or excellent credit score.
~between 680 and 699- good credit score.
~between 620 and 679- average credit score.
~between 580 and 619- low credit score.
~between 500 and 579- poor credit score.
~between 300 and 499- bad credit score.

In addition, while the credit score range remains constant, your score keeps changing. Thus only apply for a loan when your score is higher, and buy more time for your score to rise before you can apply for a loan. This will prevent your score from weakening further and compromising your score.

Every person is entitled to a free credit score report from credit bureaus after every twelve months. The law requires the three major credit bureaus namely Equifax, TransUnion and Experian to send you a free copy of your credit report every year.
However, you must check your score regularly to ensure it is correct.

How to get free credit score

You can get free credit score report on the Annual Credit Report website. This website is run by the government and you can ask for reports from the three credit agencies. However, you will need to pay if you require the report if you ask for the report more than one time within the same year. You will be asked to give your social security number, name, address and other contact details. You must also answer a questionnaire regarding your credit history. Once the site has verified this information you will receive your free credit score on the screen and you can download and save it on your computer.

There are some sites that provide free credit score through trial membership. The trial membership usually lasts for 30 days, and you must provide your credit information. The company will start charging you a nominal fee as soon as the 30 day is over. You must therefore remember to cancel your membership before the trail period expires.

Other websites that provide free credit score information include Quizzle and Credit Karma. These websites require you to provide your personal information and in exchange you will get monthly report on your email. While the report provided by these sites may differ from the one given by FICO, the difference is trivial. Applying for a loan online is another way to get free credit score. Your lender will need to check your credit score before lending you money and this is a good opportunity to know your credit score for free.
